Fighting for our Future

As governments move to consolidate power, conflict with labor unions has historically followed — and the United States is no exception. In recent months, the Trump administration has escalated aggressive federal actions in major cities, including Minneapolis, targeting immigrants, journalists, legal observers, and union members. Communications Workers of America (CWA) has documented multiple instances of federal agents detaining or harassing union members, often without clear justification, tearing families apart and intimidating communities.

Among those affected are NewsGuild-CWA members, including a Minnesota union steward detained by ICE and transferred to Texas, and journalists whose homes were raided or whose reporting was restricted by new federal policies. In Minnesota, long-time union workers with deep community ties have been detained despite having lived and worked legally in the U.S. for decades. These actions have sparked mass protests and growing solidarity among labor, civil rights, and community organizations, underscoring
Documented Incidents Involving CWA Members and Federal Enforcement Actions.
